Title: SAAC Carolinas Region Facebook Page Created
Post by: FlyNavy on May 12, 2025, 04:24:30 PM
Due to restrictions with publishing photos on this forum, and having multiple photos and videos from this weekend's SAAC Carolinas and Friends Spring Fling, I have created a Facebook page for North and South Carolina SAAC Region members:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/987054833213642

Between this forum and Facebook for those who use it, we will be better able to communicate with the group members and not miss anyone for news and events.

I noticed that the hood on your car is bowed out. I had a similar problem with a fiberglass hood on my truck that bowed out because of the strong springs on it. I took them off and then had the truck sit out in the sunlight with a bunch of weight on it And after a couple of days, it went back to original form. Just something to consider if you haven't already tried it. Beautiful car by the way.

Thanks for setting that Facebook page up, Bill.  I'm not a big FB user but that's an excellent way for most who are to see our activities.  Your pics are great!

Sadly, our state is so big and our membership is so spread out, it's very difficult to have a normal schedule of events. The good news is that Bill Baker (above), indicates that the new Air Museum in Hickory (of which he is intimately involved) will be ready for us next Spring! I'll let Bill fill in the details when he has them.

If you ever see a '67 with a perfect hood (no bow, excellent gaps), you know it's far from being original.  But it's one of many quirks true 1967 Shelby fans love about these cars.  When I owned car 83, I couldn't believe the poor quality of build pertaining to anything that Shelby American completed compared to what came from San Jose.  The welds looked like a drunk Boyscout did them, and the rear taillight cutouts for the Cougar units looked like they were cut by a can opener.
