wow a lot of Shelbys is this typical?
will the night mist blue pull the most $$$ out of the lot?
Brian thanks for taking the time and effort to post these as well as the others you have over the years.
I'll be checking these out in person on Wednesday the 14th.

Not even close. The GT Prototype and then the Cobra.
The NMB '67 is a nice driver, but there is a lot that is not correct.
Yes its very typical for the auctions.
You have to be very very careful the quality of some cars is less than desirable
Thanks Brian... ;D

of course, I should of specified shelby mustangs. That green KR, 67 green gt500 and the hertz all look like contenders. Nice selection
Results through today posted.
1968 GT500 convertible was a great result...

This car was impeccable

It depends on what your definition of impeccable is. Impeccable is a pretty strong evaluation. Too strong IMO from the standpoint of a "Stunning rotisserie restoration to MCA Concours specifications" as stated in the description. With my judges cap on there are a lot of mistakes under the hood ,undercarriage ,trunk and some even on the exterior. Although nice looking from the pictures it would most likely be a Bronze or low silver and that is just based on items I can see in the pictures . No doubt there are things incorrect from a concours perspective that there are not pictured which would be further deductions in concours. Still a bronze category car is heads and shoulders more concours correct compared to the majority of cars out there.

Nice price. Not sure how the car would have done if they had entered it in a judged class at that show rather than popular vote. Number of smaller things popped out in a quick view of the pictures provided. Would have been interesting to have seen it in person. With all that apparent effort wonder why they made some of the choices they did but that is an often asked question. It is or was their car so the choices belonged to them and apparently the bidders didn't care or weren't aware. Either way hope the new owner is happy with their purchase.
"Werent aware" seems to be the answer, oversold and bought by someone that hasn't done the hard work is a trend weve been on for a while
Good morning folks,
I highly respect your observations and opinions on this particular Cult Car but that's just my every day guys observation.
I the end the market has spoken loudly at $285,000

Thank you. I added it to the first post and updated the final prices.
Still trying to learn here...
so the 68 gt500 vert went for so much because it was black with ac, and of course excellent condition?
the 68 highland green KR with lots of older awards looked amazing in pics, good color good history, why did bidding stop at 120k?
logged into Mecum and I cannot see prices on the silver jade gt500 and nightmist blue gt500. Are these sales get backed out or something?
and I have to ask, special paint cars are cool but orange on red? I am a red guy, and get some heat for over abundance of red on my red on red car how did the 1970 gt350 look in person. Also this car had reinforced shock towers did all 69-70 gt350s get that?
You cant judge the cars by auction pictures. They are very deceptive. As are descriptions.
$400k for a 1968 GT500 is silliness, regardless of the car
It was pointed out to me the 68 blue GT350 had an auction description that was 180 degrees from the Registry info
The shock tower reinforcements are common to big blocks, but also found on a lot of small blocks.
Have to agree the red with that orange is not good looking
I went to a Mecum auction once to buy a Shelby that was fully restored, per the description, and looked awesome in the pictures. Even took an empty enclosed trailer. In person, it needed a full restoration and didn't look anything like the pictures. I didn't even stay for it's auction and my trailer went home empty.
@rickmustang I wish I had the money from all the diesel fuel I've wasted looking at cars that the owner completely lies about over the phone.
Thanks Brian for collating the results and posting them. Strong money on the 66 GT350H

wow you didn't even mention the 68 gt500 vert. How do you get big dollars out of a 68? Big block, check, 4 speed, check, air, check check, black is the cherry on top hence the almost 400k high bidder who won(over 400k w Bp)Same car in a fb sold for 330k on bat not long ago. Since the car was sold when I walked up to it I didn't pop the hood so didn't know how nice it may have been.
