Title: Auto shifter handle
Post by: TA Coupe on April 25, 2025, 01:29:01 AM
I've seen this talked about before, but I can't currently find it.
So i'm trying to find out if this isn't original or not. I've had it for approximately 50 years. So if I remember correctly, it has the right details for being one, but i'm not sure. I don't want to sell it and say it's original If it's not.

      TIA. Roy

Of course it needs refinishing. Hard to give a definite ruling for sure because it has characteristics of both service replacement/repro and assemblyline. The routing out of the wood in some areas is not as close to the emblem contour as most assemblyline style handle  yet it is within expectations in other areas. It's a tweener.  ;)  Just my read of the part.

Looks different from mine. May be one of the earliest reproductions, IMO.
