I have a chance to buy a set of 15"x6" steel wheels off of a 1966 Meteor. They are in decent shape according to the seller, and very reasonably priced.
I'm looking for a set for my KR. At this point not concerned with correct date codes and markings, I just want something to get me rolling for now.
Will these work?
Thanks, Pete.
I think you just need to make sure they will work with a disc brake caliper
OK, thanks Pete. Something I hadn't considered.
What date code do you need for your KR?
Nice find, but worry about the Disc brakes fitting....
I need a set of 4 steel wheels, also dont care about date codes (Ill knock 400 off the price before working about that), I need them for a 67 GT350, as long as they will go on, work with my disc brakes, and be a ford wheel, not bent, I am good....there seems to be way to much research finding wheels, so please let me know...remember they are going on my 67 Shelby....

I'm now looking for a set of steel wheels for my 68 GT500 as I've finally found a set of hubcaps for my car. I'd be interested in the wheels, posted by Coralsnake in the ebay ad above but damn, the seller sounds a bit grumpy and I'd be hesitant to interact with him.
Hell, he won't even ship them to the 51st State, up here in Canada ;D.
QSS
The wheels I posted were not 1968 wheels, they were 1967s
🤪
I have 3 restored steel wheels available. I can verify dates etc., but I believe 1 is a late '66 date and the other 2 '67's. I have detailed pics.and a breakdown of numbers. I know it's not a complete set but... Reach me at anthonyjeffery@comcast.net if interested. Thanks.
Those wheels on eBay seem like crazy money. Is that what they typically sell for?

That price is the reason why I do not care about part numbers and date codes.....just wheels that will fit correctly on my 67 Shelby....
At this point its a 400-600 wheel.
You have choices
If you can find some the K2/9 wheels are really similar with a slightly larger center hole. Much cheaper than correct K2/8 wheels.

Where do you find them?
Have had some success with a local steel wheel place. Get them to look for 15 x 6 with the correct hole spacing...

If youre looking for $100-200 wheels, youre going to need to be very lucky.
There is no hidden secret.
Oem wheels are expensive
do mopar wheels fit? sacrilege...
Yes Mopar steel wheels fit the 1968 mustangs with disc breaks.
Be careful to check your offset and back spacing.

Where do you find them?
Where are you located? I have a set of 4 Magstars off a mercury (same wheel but uses chrome trim).
I will be going to Carlilse this weekend.
Don't the Mercury Magstars have a larger "Disc" than the Mustang ones so not the same?

Different yes because they are steel rim and aluminum center but they will work fine on a Mustang. They are commonly referred to as Mercury Marauder wheels. There are more 14 inch rim versions out there then 15 inch so there is that.
