Title: Rescued 1966 Hertz Shelby Cult Car
Post by: FL SAAC on February 12, 2025, 07:27:16 AM
About +/- five years ago this 1966 Shelby Hertz GT350 was rescued

Here was the story that was sent to us:

Yesterday was pretty monumental day for us at Signature Auto/ Bosscars.

We have been trying to rescue a 1966 Shelby GT350H that is still owned by the first owners after the Hertz rental program ended.

It has been sitting outside since 1981 and the Ohio weather has taken its toll on this gem.

We first heard about it 5 years ago and met with the owner to encourage her to get it out of the mud.

We recently had contact again with the family and were able to make a plan.

Wanting to be careful not to damage the car further or ever worse, break it in half, careful planning and evaluating the situation ensued over several weeks.

With the expertise of Cal's Towing of Columbus, and our staff, we were able to safely extricate it from its home of 40 years.

This car holds a lot of fond memories for the family and the hope is to restore it and be able to drive it once again.

Moving right along....

This last picture of the GTH Cult Car being whisked away from it's long time resting place.

Anybody remembers the C.S.M. number?

Where is it today?

Was it restored?

Any current pictures of this "Cult Car" ?

Word has it the car has moved yet again and found another home.  At least a.i. word has it.  I used Night Cafe.  I have tried a variety of a.i. illustrators and they do very poor work on cars.  People okay, cars for some reason they lack.

Here was the text prompt I used:
"1966 Shelby Mustang Hertz rental black and gold in color rusting away in a desert landscape with tumbleweed blowing around and cactus plants."

Anyone have a better description let me know.

Try using the same text description but use a 'Start Image' of the actual car from a frame of the Youtube video.
