What color of white should be used in painting the rocker and over the top stripes on a 1966 mustang GT350? I searched on line and see that some say Wimbledon white while others say Chevrolet commercial white which is brighter. What would be the most authentic color to choose? I have searched the forum but I can't find the answer. I would be surprised if this question hasn't already been asked many times.
Thank you for the help.
John
rocker stripes are tape
Thank you. As I understand it 1965 was the only year that the stripes were actually painted on. But if I were to want to paint them I am wondering what color white would most closely match the taped stripes.
Thank You
not Wimbledon White
Order a set of tape stripes from Branda and then match that color.
Most '66s didn't come with over-the-top (LeMans) stripes from SA, many dealers/owners added them though. In '66 the side stripes were the 3M tape style, including the "GT350" portion. The LeMans stripes for '66 were painted with Chevy commercial white, as Wimbledon white was deemed not bright enough, per Chuck Cantwell's book.
This is exactly the documentation I needed. Thank you!
