I remember those pictures coming up here in the earlier years of this forum. Seems like I remember a story about the scoop light lens and the pop open gas cap cover with the Shelby emblem were stolen on the way to show or right before the car was placed . Regardless they were stolen. The GT outer gas cap held on with 2 screws was sourced from a Ford dealer. It was surmised they didn't know that the scoop light lens didn't come from Ford and since they didn't know that they originated as truck marker light they couldn't quickly replace them .

Our own B. Glover got these images and posted them here a couple  6 years ago, I'm sure he can tell more.  He's on the forum.

Hi,
Just a few details-Cobo hall Friday Nov 18. Show ended Sat Nov 26 (Still used for shows)
This is car #0003 and was sent to Michigan to be used by Ray Geddes of Ford/Shelby
It stayed in Michigan and it is used in a few promotional pictures.
To date it is the only car this color with a front fender emblem placed centered on the front fender. The other car with this same emblem placement was #0018 and it was white.
It also appears from pictures both cars used smaller emblems on the trunk lids, and both cars are shown in photographs with standard G.T. gas caps. Makes you wonder if they were stolen, or if the flat cap was not available/installed yet. Would really like to find the photographer from this event.
