Title: Hipo Harmonic Balancer Rebuild
Post by: emccarty on January 12, 2025, 06:09:46 PM
Is there a reputable rebuild service out there that can replace the rubber on my original 289 HiPo harmonic balancer?  Getting ready to rebuild my engine and would like to have this replaced before I have rotating assembly balanced.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Ed

Hello,

I sent Damper Doctor two hipo balancers last month.  Cost was $180 each.  Turn around time was about a week.  Good experience.

Thanks,

Tim

I would suggest making a template referencing the relationship between the hub crank key slot and the inertia ring timing marks before sending the damper off for reworking; so as to have a comparator when it returns.  ;)

Just had a 69 Boss 302 damper rebuilt by Damper Dudes. Called Damper Doctor and once I told him it was a B2 damper, the price went to something way north of $300.

Damper Dudes did it for close under $200 and it looked great.

Just another reference. No ding against Damper Dr, just a little surprised at the price.
