Little Deuce Prius...LMAO  !

Commiefornias shocking plan to ban classic cars

Earlier this year we took three weeks to drive through Commiefornia.

Not impressed with has happened through out the whole state since last time we visited, in our eyes it is now a big dump.

Its natural beauty still prevails and cannot be disputed.

But the total deterioration of the infrastructure and human element is second to none.

Love those new "Tent-A-Miniums" and our stop at a Wally-Mart to buy Tylenol was a total ordeal as "everything was behind protective glass"

We were instructed to

1 ring bell
2 wait patiently for attendant
3 keep waiting
4 keep waiting
5 attendant comes
6 attendant removes Tylenol from behind
   glass
7 attendant walks you to cash register
8 you pay for Tylenol
9 we wanted to keep shopping
10 you must leave Tylenol with customer
   service ( another counter )
11 come back when you are done shopping get
   in line.
12 wait for them to find your Tylenol
13 pay for your items
14 hours later you leave Wally Mart

And those GAS PRICES....

Once we left Commiefornia, we made our way slowly across the other beautiful States until we hit the promisedland .... La Florida

Amen hallelujah for our Governor Ronnie "D"

My survey and those of my neighbors and Calif friend must have gotten lost in the mail  ::)

Never got one or seen one. Wonder if they will have open hearings again on this proposal like they have in the past.

4 pre 78 cars and no survey for any of them. Not that I would have returned it anyway.
Old cars are not the problem. They are looking to add a permile tax on old cars due to their "excessive" pollution.
I reality what they need to do is add a per mile tax to the electric cars that have never paid 1 cent into the federal or state road fund. Every gas car in CA pays .596 cents state and .284 cents federal (includes 10 cents to fix leaky underground tanks) per gallon of gas. That's about 4 1/2 cents per mile if your car gets 20mpg. Commieforians drive on the average about 12,000 per year. That's $528 for each of the 1,256,646 EVs or $663,509,088 in road taxes not being paid by EVs each year. And lets not forget the over 2.5+ billion that the state gave people when they bought an EV.
Bottom line CA has a lot more problems than actual small % of pre 1978 cars still on the road. Which by the way are generally maintained to a higher degree than on that is 5 or more years old.
As a final thought if CA denies you the use of your property they need to pay you for that loss. How many Ferraris, Cobras and Shelbys can the state afford to buy? So in the end there will not be a ban but a additional fee to drive your old car.

Governor Newscum and his commie cohorts will not be satisfied until we own nothing and be happy about it.  I have not received a survey, ever!  I do not think this will happen because all the democrat politicians like the money and perks they receive from the secondary auto industry.

Let's ban private private jets, wait, the elites would not like that.

To Cali people that are considering moving to the State of Tennessee, do NOT bring your voting habits that got Cali in trouble here. If you cannot do this, please do come to vacation here, spend lots of your money, if you have any left, and go back where you came from. We are perfectly happy with way our State is run.

Signed,
X New Yorker that fled and knows why we fled.

PS: You can sell us your nice rust free cars....That is all that State is worth.

Idaho is going left due to the CA who moved there. CO has left problems due to the CA who moved there. Even Texas has lost Austin to the CA voters who moved there. I decided not to move to NV because the Vegas area has become worse than CA. NV annual smog check on 1986 and newer cars VS CA bi-annual on 1976 and newer cars. AZ along the river is still OK because CA only visits there.
Be careful buying "rust free" cars from CA. Most of those were bought up by easterners years ago. Now you need to be careful because most in CA know nothing about rust so they bought and imported cheaper classics from the rust belt and then found out that rust never sleeps and need to get rid of that swiss cheese car they got such a great deal on.

Anyone recognize the author of Brian's second reference?  Lauren Fix, automotive expert TV personality, author, race driver and driving instructor: Wife of Paul Fix, owner of Classic Tube and serious race driver in his own right. They are big-time Shelby people and have been for a long time. Lauren's father, George Jonas was the owner and founder of Stainless Steel Brakes, a very talented, creative man.

Paul was one of the first to restore the cars to a high level. Lauren also raced in SCCA and in SVRA. Paul worked for Lauren's dad and started the stainless brake line business to compliment the SSB calipers. Paul has also done some TV spots and driven in the TA series.

This is one of the reasons I left Kommifornia and moved to Nevada. Same weather, far superior car culture here. Yes, many are like myself, ex-California folks.
And, btw, Shelby American is 7 miles from my house.

Paul Fix, the actor, was also the Marshal of Northfork. Fictional town of "The Rifleman".

We've got friends in Boulder City and Henderson. We thought of going there. But I wasn't going to smog cars every year. If we move it'll be to Lake Havasu AZ. Much more car friendly and our daughter would rather inherit there......

Truth be told... California has its problems and I hate the politics here...

However, I can drive "any car" 350 plus days a year.

I'd move to OK in a heartbeat. We've got friends in Yukon and Claremore but it's too far from the grandson to keep the wife happy. We'd save a fortune on car registration using her tribal ID. https://tagoffice.cherokee.org/registration/fee-schedule/

If you get a survey just say you drive your Classics less than 800mi a year and if they want milage put more than what your car shows and keep track of that number and if they ask again just add a relatively small amount. Make them think our cars aren't driven much and they may not bother us as much.

Agree. Hate the politics but it can't be beat for everything I love. Motorcycles, great roads, amazing car culture, beach, and some of the best mountain biking in the country just a 7 minute pedal from my house.

We deserve every joke we get but I've lived in crappy weather and will never go back to it. I get the home prices are ridiculous but to me a house is just a place to keep my toys. I prefer being outdoors hopefully on two or four wheels and for that it's tough to beat LA (with the exception of San Diego).

Your confusing Phoenix for Vegas, my friend. IF you are going to compare apples to apples, Tahoe or Mt. Charleston would be a good comparo. Btw, I can also drive 'any car' here 350 plus days a year.

Santa Barbara weather is no where near Vegas, nor is it like LA weather. My original comment was referencing LA/SFV to Vegas.

I had a ggetc grandfather that had a plantation in the Carolinas. I looked up where it was. It's now called the Great Dismal Swamp. He did participate in the first tax revolt - Culpeper's Rebellion in 1677.

My grandfather didn't fair any better when he was the maint superintendent of the plant producing Ethyl fuel additive in WWII. He and the plant manager with their families lived on site.
Kure Beach, N. C., July 25, 1943, at around 3 a.m., Germany attacked the United States when a surfaced submarine fired five rounds at the local Ethyl-Dow chemical plant intending its damage. The rounds landed in the Cape Fear River near Brunswick County.
