Title: Vintage SAAC/SAAC-9 Decal
Post by: 67#0083 on October 17, 2024, 08:18:49 PM
This cool old SAAC decal has been riding around on the bumper of 5S501 for decades- probably since the late '70s. Unfortunately, while it was in the shop for some minor paint fixes, a guy badly scratched the bumper and now it needs to be re-chromed.

I am hoping to find another vintage sticker with lots of patina -OR- a sticker from SAAC-9 in Anaheim. According to the Registry, 5S501 "won the concourse" in 1984. Thanks for any help, guys!

Hi Ryan,
It would be nice to know the size of this decal...it looks like the ones the club sells.

R.R.- it's the same 2-1/2" decal. I have tons of them, but they are all brand new. I was hoping to find one with some real age to it: faded, yellowed, possibly worn, etc. Thanks!

Ryan,

You can probably create the desired appearance using decoupage techniques. If you are not familiar check with local craft shops for someone that could assist you. I am sure that you can do it!!!! Hope to get eyes on 5S501 some day soon!
