Title: Koni shock question

I have a pair of original front shock Koni shocks dated 7/65. They have never been messed with.

1) The question I have Jeff and Charles is, when did the top hoop that surrounds the bushing at the top of the front shock change from the thick metal hoop to the thinner hoop?

The shocks in question are off of a very original 66 GT 350 and have the thinner metal hoops.

The 7/65 dated shocks that I have observed are like the ones you posted.
Earlier dates have the smaller top bushings.
