I do remember the thread of the '69 Shelby cardboard trunk liners and the thought that they were originally painted and painted light blue.
I don't remember if the '68s were thought to have been painted also?
I did do a search on this subject and nothing came up.
Can someone either point me to the thread on the '68 discussion, if there is one or just tell me what the finish should be, please?
Mine are not painted and I suppose could be described as a flatten satin but they are closer to dark charcoal; grey then to black.
Thank you.
This set was in car that I had back in 80s:

Those are what I was searching for. My search came up with nothing. I need to learn to search better.
Thank you.
Doug I got one original from my 68 and one original from my 70. The 68 I haven't looked at too close but think it is painted also.

I am wondering if the painted/unpainted thing varies according to the build date? Also, on the driver's side well cover, are the big perforations left open or are the covered with something like tape?
The blue finish in the picture of post #1 is very typical for 1968.
I bought some re-pops of these for our '68 GT350 from Dead Nuts On and they were blue. I was very pleased with the quality and they way they fit.

1968 boards were painted regardless of production dates
Not sure what "big perforations" are?

Those perforations/openings made when the tabs are bent over to act as a brace are typically left open .The trunk mat covers them.

I got a pair and they were bent backwards. I still haven't fixed them as it would have been a hassle to send them back. I just got to find the right thing to lay them over to create the correct bend. I did talk to Jack about it and could have sent them back. They(1969) are spot on to my original one(1969) I had color and markings. On DNO webpage the 68s are out of stock.

Trunk filler to quarter board or trunk board for short . At least what I call that.
I presume that there was only the one on the driver's side? Never on the spare tire side?
I was just hoping for a shorter part description. Anything shorter that I thought of wasn't as definitive as I would have liked. I'm attempting, and SOMETIMES successful, at avoiding confusion that can be misinterpreted as confrontational.
I'm not always as good at that as I would like?

No passenger side trunk board.
I think we we switched from the tail light covers to the trunk well filler board?
There is only one filler board on the drivers side. It is unpainted

Yes, a devious manipulation on my part. Is that well cover a Shelby thing or do all Mustangs have them?
All Mustangs
