Title: Question: 1967 GT500 Automatic Transmission
Post by: silverton_ford on August 08, 2024, 03:01:40 PM
I have an extra C6 transmission here and I am not sure if it is for a GT500 or standard passenger car.

The tag on this particular transmission reads PGB-A with an E servo (see attached photo).  From my research PGB-A is for 1967 with 428 but doesn't specify GT500 or standard passenger car.  It has an all aluminum case and tail housing, I cannot find a partial Ford VIN anywhere on the transmission.

I may be getting 1968 & 1969 confused with 1967.  I know iron tail housings and R servos were common on Cobra Jets in 68 & 69; but I don't know what was done in 1967.

Can someone help me figure out what I have?   Thank you.

PGB R with an H servo is what I have seen for 67 GT500 automatics.

Let's see what others say.

Looking through pictures, I see:

PGB R "early" (car #139)

and

PGB R 1 "late" (car #2940)
