this one is from June 67 so really at the end of the production run of the 67 GT500 you maybe can use it for the last 30-40 cars build.

Kent ,I only see two distinct dots with the 67 which typically indicates February of 67. Can you explain how you came up with June 67?
sorry I was wrong, yes its the dots not the 6 on it. Sometimes the date code stuff makes me crazy. I think the thermostat housing is the only part I have seen where the dots tell the date.

The dots along with the year number (67 in this case) is a typical way for a lot of Ford diecast castings to have their casting dates recorded. Some timing covers are another example. There are other ways for the dates to be recorded depending on the part. Yes it can be very confusing .
For $500 bucks, it's too bad the engineering number largely gets covered up by the hose when installed.
At least you can see the date code on a good casting but so many of them are not very clear.
The pitting on them gets pretty nasty too.
To me the C7AE engineering number and the date code are distant second to the distinct shape which is the most visible aspect of the 67 only thermostat housing . At least compared to the C5AE or C8AE thermostat housing.
You can counterfeit the shape but not the casting numbers.

The casting numbers are for the most part covered once hose is installed. SAAC DIV II and MCA trailered concours do not typically deduct for no casting numbers or wrong date code.Those are details left for the harder concours class's. I am not saying they are not important but making the point that they are much less important in the larger scheme of things then the distinct correct shape.
The wrong shaped ones definitely stick out. It is amazing how even the dimple is so prominent.
The group willing to pay for original '67 parts regardless of the rarity is becoming very small if not entirely extinct.
