Went to install the Hi-Performance Motors license plate frame on the back end of the 66 Hertz (car 843) and noted that they were actually small bolts and not long enough to accommodate both the license plate and the frame. Any suggestions for bolt or screw length to accommodate the plate and frame? Which is appropriate for back in the day?
Would suggest for a 66 that you use pan head (with fairly flat heads) that use the standard screwdriver

the screws and plastic inserts are original on 6S1431 and look like the ones in the photo, except mine are a lot more crusty looking

Simplicity and beauty of old technology in everything about these cars. The new stuff might not age so well when computer components become obsolete and fail are no longer made.
