Got a reproduction tail housing. Think Cobras used them I have no need for it but don't know the correct application. Sure it is a Cowls new reproduction piece. In perfect condition. Any idea on value? Thanks
When Jim Cowles introduced these years ago I believe his price was $1500. Shelby Parts may still be selling them. "Back in the day" most racing Cobras had the aluminum tail replaced with the steel version. The original aluminum versions were generally fine for the street but cracked under racing stresses. The flexible flyer aspect of the 289 Cobra chassis and the driveshaft put a lot of stress on the long "L" aluminum casting.
