Looking for wheel bearings or part number for rear wheel bearings for a 68 GT-500 with C6 auto, 9 inch rear end, 31 spline axle. All the auto parts stores list a bearing number RW207CCRA. This bearing has to small of an ID. The oil seals are p/n C7OW-1177-F. I cant find a part number on the existing bearings and hate to pull a bearing off the axle until I can find the right bearing replacement. the dimension of the bearings that are on the car are 2.833 OD, 1.65 ID, .85 width. Anyone have an idea of the correct part number or have new bearings to sell ?
Thanks
I picked up a NOS pair of C8DZ-1225-B. Pretty easy to find. These have the same dimensions as the part number you mention. Not sure your ID measurement is correct..

The bearing (for a 28 or 31 spline axle) should be 1.380" ID because the axle OD is that number. The wheel bearing OD is 2.840" as is the axle ID. The seal sleeve is 1.510" OD and 1.380" ID.
Bearing and retainer WBRW207CCRA :

Along with the axle bearing there is also an axle bearing retainer and a seal sleeve. So three parts are pressed on each axle - four if you count the bearing retainer plate.
Seal Sleeve for 31 Spline axles:

The seal P/N I used is SKU 14968.

Any other sources for the axle sleeve other than Mustangs Etc.. ? Not implying there is anything wrong with them..

Dead Nuts On and Rock Auto used to have them but they both no longer carry any. I don't know of any other source.

If I am not mistaken, you can just leave the sleeves off and use 28 spline axle seals instead.

Yep, just use greater care in slipping the axle spline through the seal so as not to damage them.
Scott.
Thanks to everyone for the information on the rear wheel bearings ! I was able to find a gear shop that specialize in 9 inch ford differentials and he has the bearings !
