Title: 2066
Post by: deathsled on February 09, 2024, 01:46:48 PM
Thinking random thoughts last night I realized that my car will be 100 years old in the year 2066 (maybe 2065 since the car is an earlier number).  My body, alive or dead, will be 103 years old.  If I can just hold on...

I've already given the family instructions to just prop me up behind the wheel.

All things being equal I would surmize that at some point my sons would move me to at least the passenger seat so they could drive the car.

If they leave the windows open my dust can blow out.

I lead a mundane existence.  The only excitement I get is a drive in the Shelby or the Boss or when the girlfriend comes over. Or run a motion to suppress up the flagpole in court.  Otherwise, nothing to see here.  Perambulate along...
In my younger years though I went on a rampage through Europe chasing women, Germany, Norway and Belgium being primary, secondary and tertiary targets.  Those were exciting times.  It all lies in my rearview mirror now for reflection.  So in conclusion, a "Weekend at Richard's" would amount to nothing.  Your time is far better spent elsewhere.

So I have to make it to February 2066.  Very unlikely to happen considering there are so many things out there that are trying to kill me off, viruses, car accidents, sicknesses, a falling tree, drowning, aneurism, heart attack, death by misadventure, crazy happenstance and so on.  It is hard to stay alive.

Mr E this thought just came to me, write a song about the YEAR 2066

let me give you an idea on the album cover and  the lyrics, you as a writer, poet, artist extraordinaire finish it

Well here goes

In the year 2066, if man is still alive

If woman can survive, they may find
In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lie
Everything you think, do and say
Is in the pill you took today
In the year 4545
You ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing to chew
Nobody's gonna look at you
In the year 5555
Your arms hangin' limp at your sides
Your legs got nothin' to do
Some machine's doin' that for you
In the year 6565

It worked once before........
"In the Year 2525 by the American pop-rock duo of Zager and Evans"
Written by Evans, "In the Year 2525 (Exordium & Terminus)" warned of the dangers of technology, portraying a future in which the human race was destroyed by its own technological and medical innovations. The last stanzas of the song suggest mankind undergoes a continuing cycle of birth, death, and rebirth.

"In the Year 2525" hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1969, ultimately claiming the top spot for six weeks. It also hit #1 in the UK and #2 in Australia. The song topped the charts at the time of two major cultural events: the first Moon landing on July 20, 1969 and the Woodstock Music Festival a month later. Sales of the original hit recording, including singles sales, album usage and compilation inclusions, are estimated at over ten million worldwide.

Zager and Evans are considered to be the archetypal one-hit wonder artists. Despite the success of "2525", the follow-up single, "Mr. Turnkey", failed to chart in the US and UK, as did subsequent releases.

Totally distracted and no time to add anything meaningful and creative.  Preparing for a motion to quash and suppress for hearing tomorrow on a DUI case.  I have a shot.
