Post by: Jg562 on December 16, 2023, 04:55:13 PM
Hi everyone, Im new to the forum and wanted to get your help ID'ing this carburetor. I recently acquired a few carbs and intakes and this one was in the bunch, Holley C3AF 9510 bj. I did a google search and could not find anything definite. Would anyone know what this carb is for?

It is for a 63-4 427 Ford. It is the secondary carb.

It is the same carb used on the 67 GT500 but the date code it shows places it as the 63-4 Ford application.

A 67 GT500 would have a date code starting with either a 6 or a 7.

In the group of carbs you acquired, is there a carb with the same numbers except the past two characters are BK? If so, that is the mate to the BJ carb pictured. The BJ/BK carbs are the carbs Ford used on the factory 2X4 set ups.

The bj is the secondary carb. It did not have a choke originally.

The date code is 3B1 so that carburetor was made the first week of December 1963. This was about midway in the 1964 Model year. The 1964 Model year went from July 4 1963 until July 3 1964.
