Are these valve covers original shelby or aftermarket?

Those are apparently used replacements that are different then what came on the cars from the factory.

I have seen this scenario many times before . Someone replaces a less then perfect used set of valve covers (or pick your part)and put them in the box that new ones came in. As time goes by it is forgotten what happened and it is and it is confusing for the owner of the parts in the box. I am not for sure that is what happened here but it would not surprise me if it is.

Compare the ones in JD's picture which are original to the ones in your picture which are service replacements. They are different.

The paint in the wrong places and general distressed condition certainly suggest that they are used.
