Title: Valve Cover Oil Baffle
Post by: SHELB66 on November 04, 2023, 02:59:21 PM
These Cobra valve covers on my '66 Hertz were there when I purchased the car in 2004.  They have the rounded, not squared, bolt hole areas and are not correct.  I have a question regarding the inner baffle where the oil fill tube is.  If you look at the picture there is the smallest of openings at the bottom area and it takes FOREVER to add oil.  I'll be switching valve covers in the near future but just wondered if anyone has come across this before.  I don't have the other set of valve covers readily available for comparison.

Yep, most likely a previous owner pounded the baffles up to make clearance for roller rockers and/or polylocks.

Thanks!  That makes perfect sense.  Who knows what lies beneath?!
