Are you looking for a 69 Trans AM coupe race car or a Pontiac Trans AM. If the former, there weren't any. My 70 coupe is as close as you will find.

Well, maybe so, I am not the keeper of data and the expert to speak BUT I did see closeup what was definitely a 1969 Firebird and it was marked as Trans Am.

I was not impressed by it at all. It had add on's to it like I would expect a factory design mockup to have.

All the same scoops and spoiler that the '70 did have but they seemed almost glued on.

Once upon a time I was a "Pontiac Trans-Am guy" and the information that I had was from magazine coverages of the subject.

I do remember reading that there was a limited number of 69 Trans-Am's "built" late in the model year and that the number was limited and thought to be around 100. So at the time, really being a 67-8 Firebird 400 guy and knowing what the '70 T/A was, I always sought out the '69 T/A.

When I thought that I had found this one, I was extremely disappointed.

Apparently they do exist, unlike a unicorn, but much like finding a real unicorn, the horn on the nose is just stuck on.

Some were built early in the model year - at least the ones Titus turned into race cars. He and Godsall bought 6 (5 to build 1 for the street) and one was arguably the first street TransAm. It got crashed by a lot monkey at the dealer and the left frame rail was damaged. I remember a few years ago his son Rick authenticated the car from the damage and repairs his dad had done.

There was a True 1969 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am in last month "AUTA BUY" Magazine (www.autabuy.com).  I don't remember which Dealer had it but if I remember to look, I will post the Info.

When I was 9 a young guy in my neighborhood had a 69 Trans Am his parents bought him brand new. Then got a 70 lime superbird the next year. Had both cars for a few years and towed a boat behind both. BTW I saw I think 7 of the 8 69 Trans Am convertibles at MCACNs one year. First TRams Am produced and one of the 8 verts below from MCACN.

The Brothers Collection has half of the 1969 Trans Am convertibles. They also have half of all the 1966 GT-350 convertibles.

And a lot of the Ebody HEMI Verts and Winged cars. It was cool to see Graveyard Carz Mark Worman go through the collection on his episodes.

There is one in Roxbury, NJ, been sitting behind a repair shop on RT46 westbound since 1977. Owner gets at least a half dozen inquiries about it weekly. For a few years, they mostly came from me  ;D . Drove by earlier this summer, still there.

All 69 Trans Am's are White with Blue Dual Over The Top Stripes, Blue Tail Light Panel and Blue Interior.  I think the Convertibles all had Blue Tops.

I knew someone would know.  I have seen Blue Mustangs with Red Interiors and it looked cool so I get the Red Interior here but GREEN?  With all the Big Shows I have been to in the SE, all of the 69 TA's I have seen had the Blue Interior and the couple of Verts had Blue Tops so that is what I was going on.  Thanks for the Info.

I knew about the silver car because of MCACN and I knew of parchment and black interiors along with the bulk being blue but red? GREEN   :o gold? I've read where a few of the coupes got blue vinyl tops.
