Please see attached images for original HiPo 289 Special chrome air cleaner base with large hose fitting. It has no date code, or just a remnant of a failed date code stamping. See image. Also, back in the day, the base was welded on in a small spot, not sure why, other that a guess someone was experimenting on welding thin metal before another project. There was no damage to repair where the weld was found. The weld was smoothed out and sand blasted to blend in. There is some surface imperfections from corrosion, further authentication a 57+ year old part. The base in painted in dark Ford Blue. I'd like $175 plus the ride OBO. Turns out my original guess at a remnant date code was correct. See attached image. Looks a lot like a "5" for a 5A date code. Sale pending.
