Title: 1969 GT 500 RADIATOR
Post by: cob428 on June 29, 2023, 01:57:11 PM
Is there any type of "TAG" that was attached to the top of the radiator for the automatic cars? For example C8ZE-S1 or a Modine tag? I see the info on the side strap of the radiator but not sure about the top tank?

Pete

Since we're "talking " about 69 Shelbys - no. The ID information was stamped on the drivers side radiator strap for that year and plant. Application code and date.

To add - the top tank tag was something seen on SJ assembled cars because that was what the W MO (west Modine?) typically used.

69 dearborn gt500 auto had c8ze-s1.  and date code stamped on rh side strap top forward area passenger side and make sure the bottom trans cooler is the wider bigger diameter round tube inside bottom tank.  I recently had to remove 351 auto bottom tank cooler and install a c6 390 428 bottom tank .  The  c6 transmission lines dont fit up to a 351 auto  a/c radiator as the 2 fittings spacing is wider on a cj vs 351.
