Title: Help - removing BW T10M1 tail shaft
Post by: 6s1640 on April 19, 2023, 06:46:55 PM
Hi all,

I need some guidance on removing the tail housing on a Borg Warner T 10 M1 transmission. It is leaking between the tail housing in the main case. I know there's a pin needs to be knocked out in the tail housing plus four bolts.  Do I pull the shaft out that the pin is holding in?  Also, any other suggestions?

Thanks

Cory

Hey Cory,
Just sent you a PM, let me know how it works out.

Thanks,

Hi Dave, I just read your PM. Thank you. Also, I saw a YouTube video that talked about the reverse fork having to be disengaged. Will that be easy to reassemble to reengage?

Thank you

Cory

It's tricky. I would suggest practicing several times without the gasket and sealer to get the feel. I've wasted many gaskets :(

Hi Tom and Dave,

Thank you for the input.  It really helps to get some guidance before attempting something new.  Together, we are smarter.  Thank you

Take care

Cory
