Title: Rear Brake Self Adjuster Question
Post by: SHELB66 on April 11, 2023, 05:38:20 PM
I'm finally getting around to doing the rear brakes on my '66 and have a question regarding the rear self adjusters.  The hardware kits come with a washer which I know they should.  The kit I have for the left driver side has a curved spring loaded washer while the kit I have for the right side contains a flat washer.  Is it correct to have 2 different types?  The old adjuster from the left, which is the side I'm working on, has no washer at all!  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you talking about the washer that sits under horseshoe clip that attaches parking brake pawl to the brake shoe ?? if so they were always curved.

According to the Ford manual there is a washer on the adjuster itself just behind the removable slotted end cap or "socket".

Problem solved!  Found correct "missing" washer in another bag.  Back to work!  Thanks again!
