Reinstalling the Tri-Ys on my Hertz car. A 3 inch collector gasket is to large and a 2.5 inch is too small. Before I go ordering something else, what is the correct size and does anyone have any suggestions as to what to buy? Headers are back in place and tightened down on the heads.

You can get the ones that fit properly from Tony Branda.
Thanks Royce. I was going to call them tomorrow. Any clue as to what size they are?

They are unique to the Shelby Tri-Y header. After you get them you can measure the diameter but it's not something you can buy anywhere else.
if you are not worried about original you can make them from sheet of .060 copper and then never need to replace them .
These are what I use and they are not custom or unique to Shelby tri y headers and you should be able to source them from many places . " Mr. Gasket 76 Collector Muffler Gasket " and I used the easy button and got them got them from Amazon but Summit Racing and no doubt others carries them too . They fit "Original" Tri Y headers perfectly . I cant say whether they will fit repro versions well or not.
Thanks for all the advice. I'll contact Brands tomorrow.
OK, did some test fitting on the 2 1/2 gaskets I have. They fit and we are in the home stretch now. :D So when I get back from vacation in a couple of weeks, we'll get the car back on the road.
The reason for removing the headers was to gain room in order to remove the transmission. The transmission needed to be rebuilt to cure it from leaking. You can read about that experience on my website (see link in my signature below).
