Title: Clutch Bellcrank bracket bolts
Post by: motorhead428 on March 28, 2022, 03:36:24 PM
I have a Bolt kit from AMK F-866 for the Clutch bellcrank (Zbar) Brackets for a GT500 big block. My question is there are 2 bolts with lock washers and 2 bolts with washer flanged bolts, which one's go on the frame side and which one's on the block side. Thank You Rick

The two flange bolts hold the pivot bracket to the frame and the other two with separate lock washers hold the other pivot bracket to the block.

If you are concerned about historically correct hardware you might check the parts that the hardware goes into so to confirm they are correct too. The original 67/68 chassis side bracket has two holes and not two slots. The original 67/68 block bracket has two slots instead of two holes .The 69/70 parts are just the opposite. Also the original parts are not plated silver like the replacement parts. These parts are very commonly found changed.

What is the correct finish?

Bare steel like the equalizer bar.
