Hi
I am restoring a 1966 hertz shelby mustang. I have been told that the undercarriage should have unpainted area where the car was put on a rotisserie when the under carriage was painted with red oxide.
Can any one confirm if this is correct, and if it is where are these Dolly marks located?
Regards
Lou
I will confirm is correct. There are several on the bottom of the car and two inside the trunk that are visible.
I might suggest a search at www.concoursmustang.com
Thanks for your help
Yes 8 of them from under the car and 4 from the interior and trunk area.
This article has been shared with this forum in the past. Think you might find it helpful Page #6 for at least the undercarriage side of the process.

Over on the concours site there is an article in the library (members part of the site) that focuses on just the the process of reproducing the marks. Hint you don't want to use tape, a magnet or just a washer or two. Also you need to leave them in place through the whole paint process through pinch weld black out
Thank you so much. really appreciate your help

They are on the ConcoursMustang site under each specific year. But if your not a member there you can't see the Library section. So far we've covered the most often requested
65 San Jose, 66 San Jose, 67 San Jose and 69 Dearborn and have also posted the first three here and the 69 on the Boss and CJ sites. Not Shelby specific since they share the same details as all the rest of the Mustangs that year and that plant
For this site use the words "Undercarriage Finishing Guide " in the search feature to access them on a separate server for the open versions of each
