This 1968 Shelby Mustang GT500 convertible was built on March 21, 1968, and was delivered new to Yates-Stevens Ford of Kirkwood, Missouri. One of 402 GT500 convertibles produced for the model year, it subsequently spent time in Illinois and Arkansas and was featured on BaT in July 2020 before it was acquired by the seller out of Texas later that month. The car is finished in Sunlit Gold over black vinyl upholstery, and power comes from a 428ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a power-operated white soft top, air conditioning, 15″ aluminum 10-spoke wheels, front disc brakes, an AM radio, and a tilting steering column. Service performed since the 2020 BaT auction included overhauls of the convertible top mechanism as well as the suspension, braking, power steering, and exhaust systems. A new clutch was also fitted along with a starter, tires, and speedometer cable. This GT500 is now offered with owner's manuals, a build sheet, a Deluxe Marti Report, service records, and a clean Florida title in the seller's name.
Saw that, looks like a decent driver, but pics appear to show rot through on the inner rockers ? Or maybe just a bad camera angle ?

Thanks Bill for making me do a deep dive on the pics. From pic 239 to pic 246 I'd say the inner rockers are toast and that is the foundation of a vert and it's at 100K right now? Wow....Pic 238 shows the header panel being incorrectly mounted. "Drdent87" just jumped the bid to 100K. Lets see. Joined Feb 2022. No posts and only bid. Could be a real person bidding but is a new member and jumping bids the first day of auction is in my opinion a red flag. If you notice it was bid to a 100K no sale in a prior BAT auction. Also the high bidder to that auction joined in July of 2020 and bid 7 times and was the only car that person has bid on in 1.5 years....Weird? A pattern? Other than the car is being sold in another state by a private individual and not a dealer like 2020.
