Was on eBay. Don't think it sold. I'll see if I can find the link.

That's it. Thanks. That is about the asking price of all the 1-3/8" input trans lately.

I've got a really nice, completely rebuilt by me RUG-AZ with shifter. I'm not going to go "Thoroughbred" with the car so I'll probably just stay with what I've got now.

It just won't have the "born with" transmission in it.

If you aren't worried about as born buy one that is all new for $2450

http://www.davidkeetoploaders.com/toploaderpricelist.htm

My race car had a big/big toploader when new - and broke it at least twice. Everyone said Jerico but I found a TKO600 that has been converted to a dog box for $1400 so I even got out of buying a shifter. I do need to buy new clutch discs and a shifter ball that has the 4 speed pattern  ;).

They call it face plated rather than dog box - https://libertysgears.com/our-products/tremec/

Key doesn't answer his phone or emails. When you call the number, it is an answering machine and won't accept messages because the "mailbox is full".

Mark Williams doesn't answer either.

At this point I already have a big TL. It's a RUG-AZ. I do need both detents and detent springs for it though but at the moment there is no where to get them.

Exactly what's going on with either one of those guys is unknown. In addition, I've been trying to get in touch with Carl's Ford Parts for about two years with the same deal. He doesn't answer.

There ARE those that suggest that I live in a parallel universe. I'm suspecting there may be some truth to that speculation?

I also tried to contact David Kee over the last 2 years, I wanted to buy 10 of his toploaders for germany, never an answer
I was at Carls Shop 4 years ago. But since that we just wrote 2 mails.
Mark should be available I had contact with him some weeks ago.

But I found a guy in my search for trannys who should have what you need. I will ask him

Hope things are OK at David Kee's place. I was planning to use them on my build. I found these guys on a recent search for toploaders. They appear to have two versions of their aluminum case wide ratio toploader (standard and "race series") but the specs shown for both are exactly the same. Anybody know more about Speedmaster?

The background info on them says that they were "formed" in Australia. That doesn't confirm where anything is being manufactured now.

I always got the impression that they were manufacturing in China.

I do have several sets of their rocker arms and can confirm that they are a high quality build and place of manufacture is not indicated on the parts or the box.

The main weight of the transmission is the gears. I can't see what an aluminum case will save but I wonder if it sacrifices strength? It would be pretty in the car.  :D

Why would you want a wide ratio gear set in a race car? That seems contradictory to me.

I think Davids shop is ok. I talk to him maybe 3-4 ties a year. Always answers my calls. Try calling at end of his business day 4-5 central rather than when he's away from desk

David Kee is fine. Just overloaded with business.
