Title: Seat belts
Post by: shelbymann1970 on January 02, 2022, 11:32:09 AM
These belts came with my friend's VERT. The long center one appears to be a vert should harness belt(spring not working to retract). Is that correct? The one next to it I circled a bracket. Any idea why that seat belt is that way with the bracket? Thanks. Gary

1968 Convertibles do not have retracting belts on the rockers

The bracket is not a factory part

+1 . To clarify a little that goes for 68-70 convertibles. The bracket was most likely to adapt the retractable belt reel above the convertible rocker.

do 68s have the retractable belts for verts up top by the bar like 69-70s? Never paid attention to a 68 vert belt wise nor have I inspected the car since the pic was sent to me. What you see is what came with his basket case. Gary

Yes, there are retractors inside the rear, interior panels.

You should have four female buckles -two on each side. One is for the lap belt the other for the retractor

Thanks. So that long one looks like the ones on my 70 vert rear side panels but does not retract.  Does anyone make/restore belts? Ssnake oil? Gary
