Title: Carlite question
Post by: Peter L. on December 20, 2021, 10:59:02 AM
Getting ready to install the rear window in my KR fastback. I have 2 to choose from, but after cleaning I noticed that one has the 'Carlite' logo in the bottom left corner and the other is in the bottom right corner. Just wondering if it makes a difference. Is there a date code on these, maybe difference from year to year? Not sure which one to use. Would appreciate any advice / input.
                     Thanks, Pete.

I typically see 68 NJ on passenger bottom. There is a date, will be in format of year/month ie:8D=68 April. Will usually proceed build date 1-2 months. Side glass can be up to 6 months

The car is July built, if that makes a difference.

Thanks Don. 4052 is a mid July car, so I'll check for a similar date code.

04412 was schedule build date of 7/23/68, with actual build date of 7/26/68.
