What are the correct spark plug wires for a Cobra with a 428 PI engine? Have they been reproduced?
GT 500 or Cobra? Year?
1966 Cobra
I am not 100% sure on this but I would think they would be the fomoco wires the same as the 7 L Galaxie used. They are reproduced
Werent the plug wires longer when the taller pentroof valve covers were used on cobras?
Same wires as on a '67 GT500. Same engine as CSX3200's.

Did all the 67 GT 500 wire sets have orange boots and '66 and earlier engines use black boots? Length might be the same since the Cobra and GT 500 had tall covers like Ed said. Probably "SX" marked steel core performance wire, for the Cobra.

I have seen some 67's with mixed black and orange. 67 GT500 used radio resistance .

Bob, when you say "mixed" do you mean one engine could've had some orange and black boots or some engines had all black and the next engine had all orange, until a supply was used up. Did the GT500 wires also have Autolite and date code along with the Radio Resistance?

Early could have all black and later could have all orange . I don't know if the mixed was the change over (probably) or not . The change over to the dated wires happened early in 67 production .
Did Ford service, Autolite replacement wire sets, let's say from 1967-1970, have date codes on them like assembly line wires?

Yes . Some of the service wires that I have seen had different color letters too.

My 65 R code has pentroof covers and have std FoMoCo SX wires
The reproduction wires that I have for my '67 GT500 are from SEMO Mustang. They clear over the the tops of the COBRA Lemans cast covers with no issues.
I believe that it is Marti that has them made?
They come with orange plug boots. They are radio suppression.
The chrome pent roof covers are less bulky so they are plenty long enough for that application.
67 would be Autolite correct? I'm thinking 66 is Fomoco

Approximately 12/20/66 is when the date code started and sometime in the beginning of the '67 model year is when the black FoMoCo boots were being switched to the orange Autolite boots. That's why Mr. Gaines said he has seen both black boots and orange boots used in early '67 GT 500's.
White stars and Radio Resistance (linen/rayon core) and cylinder numbers would be on the wires prior to the '67 unless the "SX" and cylinder number marked (steel core) high performance wires were used. Black FoMoCo boots.
White Stars, Radio Resistance, Autolite, cylinder numbers and the date would be on '67 wires after Dec of 1966, earliest dated wires being 4Q66. Orange Autolite boots.
So to answer the original question they would be fomoco black boots and yes they are reproduced

Probably be helpful if listed the actual kit/part numbers

Each reseller will assign a different part number when they sell it through their store, catalog or web page. Some will also relabel the packages also
So if your not purchasing directly from Keven then a part number will not likely help and if you do purchase it from Kevin don't think you need one
I meant original ford part number to make sure if buying originals they get the right ones.

OK now I understand. Of course in that case it would be the number assigned to service parts and you don't want to go on part number alone since the same number would be used for spark plug wires made in the 70's or 80's and could be very different so don't want to go by number alone. Might get Autolite, might find Motorcraft or something else inside
Sorry it's not something that is real easy
Mine still has the original plug wires I'll take pictures tomorrow. It's 3251
The spark plug wires on my car say radio resistance in yellow lettering with the boots on each end black. They don't have autolite name that I see. I forgot to look at the boots for autolite or fomoco.
