You might get one for $ 150,000.00..........in boxes - This healthy market is now where demand has far outstripped supply at this time.

I have you on my list if something should become available privately (pocket deal)

Thank you

Incredible but true.  A very reputable shop owner and I had this very discussion earlier in the week.  Relics w/ no drivetrain and/or incomplete cars are selling above 110k.  You will easily spend another 150k to restore b/c it's tough to take a shell and turn it back into an original "driver".  Hard enough to find genuine nos stuff-good luck finding original used.  Both classes of cars-that is complete/original (but perhaps not running) and original/drivers are truly scarce now-not becoming scarce.  The fact that so many have been restored to trailer queen status has helped re-create/perpetuate the oft forgotten "driver" class.  The result-a huge upward swing in value and collectability.  Good for you if you own one.  And, if you decide to sell, price it intelligently b/c your not likely to replace it any time soon.  Steve's reference to the "box" is, imho, spot on.

I can see where the inability to replenish inventory is a key indicator but putting a price on that is just speculation. Maybe an educated guess but still just speculation at this point.

I'm wondering if the market will just collapse when the cars reach a certain price and people give up and look for something else?

I am able to put my hands on a few "wrong color" cars that are nice drivers for 140 to 160...I got a wrong color car now, Moss Green. Not sure why people put up comments insisting that I want to pay nothing for a car....tell me you have a nice true color car and we can talk, if I like it, I will buy it, if I don't, I won't.

I am not cutting anyone here down, but should I just lock this topic, and hope I get a productive PM? As you can see, I did get one PM, I know it is a busy time of year, so not many have the time to send me pictures, but I can wait. I also know the BJ bump is here, it happens every year.

Remember my ad looking for a 66? Well, I was able to find one, and I am happy with it, it is a driver. It needs very minor work, but it is fun to drive and 90 percent right. It will need paint and undercarriage detailing, but now is very presentable.

Again, I did not mention any amount that I am looking to pay for a 67, don't assume that I want to pay 80K. Yes I did pay more than that for the 66.

My intention is to buy a 67 that I like, (color and manual), and then sell my current 67 as I am working on my personal car collection. I am not a flipper, I am looking to get to the point of making me happy with my collection. I do have other cars on my list and I will address them as I go. Here is my "Future List"...
1966 Mustang GT coupe or fastback (Missed a Springtime Yellow GT coupe that was on here)
1968 Torino GT fastback
1972 and up Torino Sport would love a manual
early Pantera
05 / 06 Ford GT that has a rebuilt title due to a test drive or something gone bad...but fixed by a qualified FGT "Guy"
LS Boss 302
65 Buick Riveria GS
65 Buick Electra 225 2 door coupe maybe even a Wildcat!
A right mid 60's Corvette coupe
61 Caddy 2 door coupe
1975-7 LTD 2 door Landau

This list changes with models and years, the old GM and LTD are from parents days. I am hesitant on the Pantera due to rust and disappointment, as driveing a FGT, that is truly a slice of heaven! Am I wrong?
