Title: 1968 shelby reproduction hood pins feedback

Any reason not to buy reproduction? Fit and finish excellent? Thanks

I assume you mean the twist locks given the 68 does not have pins that protrude through the hood like 65-67. Not sure why you would want to polish them but yes then can be polished. If you do they will not look like original.

I bought a Cervini's fiberglass 2007 KR ram air hood for my 07 GT 500 and they come with the Scott Drake reproduction twist hood pins. Quality is pretty good, but there are two things I noticed on the reproduction twist style 68 hood pins. They are as follows:

C-clips and machining for the c-clips on the locks are wider than originals.
It appears the twist locks are a bit longer than originals. The machining on the reproductions is not as smooth as an original.

Just my quick observations, as the parts are still in the packaging, as I'm not ready to install the hood as of yet.
