Title: Is this original style 67 comfort weave?
Post by: 1175 on June 12, 2021, 06:46:07 PM
My car was first restored in the 1980's. I'm trying to determine if these are original comfort weave or some type of repo circa mid 1980's. Picture with tear is front.  Other photo is rear.
Thanks
Jon

Hard to tell from pics but looks legit.Comfortweave is a woven material and breathes, repop is usually stamped material and doesn't breathe. Also most of the repop has a weird grayish tinge to my eye.

It looks legit but hard to tell 100% by picture . put your mouth up to material and blow . You will know instantly if the air passes through the material like original or not like repro. FYI repro versions were not being made before the later 90's if I remember correctly.

I've got a split seam like that on one. Is there anyone who can repair that or is the cover done?

I have a roll of NOS Black Comfortweave material if you need any.

Blow through test.  Passed with flying colors!  Thanks Bob.
