Shelby, Cobra & GT 40 collectors should pay attention.
This dwarfs what was offered at Atzbachs auction.

Grab when the gettings are good
many Shelby items, that after 32 years of researching racing, many I have never seen.

If any piece of Shelby American memorabilia can ring the bell......this jacket is it. Phil Hill was one of the greatest.

They have Phil's helmet from the movie Grand Prix which has a range that exceeds 100K.

Be careful when you loan stuff to museums and collections - do not do it on a handshake or without some type of ownership tag on your items. I know a guy who had to buy his own stuff back that he had loaned for display. Some of it went for so much money he couldn't afford it.

Probably done by the same bowling shirt company that did the tram shirts. The stitch used to fill in the Cobra is very distinctive and not done any more. Jim Murieta has tried to replicate on his team shirts. I'd want to see the label before bidding - repros are terrible.

Hey Guys,

There is no doubt to the authenticity to the jacket...they were not made by the same company that did the team shirts actually. The team shirts were made by Bowlers while the team jackets were made by Whiting. Aside from that...every item offered in the collection came directly out of Phil's estate, so..

I was happy to bid on the jacket for a client and friend. It will take its place among a very good collection with a very good collector.

Kind regards,
Vern
