I'm looking for a set of early 67 GT350 OEM painted headlight rings, any color but chrome. Also looking for a correct OEM early 67 metal framed fiberglass hood. Please message me if you have either, and are interested in selling.
Thanks.
Eddie
Hi Eddie
Not to sure if this would suite you or not

Reminder: It is easier to paint over chrome than it is to chrome over paint.
Yes: hoods show up on Ebay often.

I saw that and spoke to him. I was told by someone who does a lot of research that this hood wasn't correct for my car.
Eddie,
How about this one:

Isn't correct because it's been cut for a big block (GT500). They can be repaired, I had one done by Jason Billings for not much at all. That one on eBay needs work, but beggars can't be choosers I guess. Good luck either way!

That is about as fair of a price that I have ever seen for a steel innerstructure version for sale considering the condition.
The metal Framed/Fiberglass topped '67 hoods are very limited and most if not all have issues over time, rust, separation and cracks among them.
The first hood for sale link does appear to be an original needing a good amount of work as stated by the seller. Not sure what the "researcher" sees that deems it "not correct" for your car.
The one Brian linked does have the GT500 cutout at the rear to accommodate the longer air cleaner unit but as he stated good repair shops like Jason Billups can take care of any issues. (Note some GT350's did get the GT500 modified hood, Shelby wasn't always a stickler for correctness.
Some have made versions of these hoods by grafting a modified all-fiberglass top to a metal frame bottom structure, most I've seen are VERY heavy.
Note these original hoods use the stock Ford Mustang hood springs not the Shelby version hood springs.
Some images for reference..
Hello Eddie,
I have an original 1967 GT500 hood if this helps? The hood has not been on a car since 1979. The hood is located in Prineville, Oregon area. You did not say where you are located or are willing to pick up. I can not ship the hood. I can send pictures if you are interested.
