Asking for a friend........
...Mike did you ask Dave Mathews too?
Does that tag read car #2450?
I didn't, and yes that appears to be the number.
If its not on there.... may want to add it to the 'Z' database.......

Thanks...The "Z" stamp has been added with this new thread posting.
Mike, since you haven't contacted the registrar, perhaps your friend should do that.
I'm sure any new info would be appreciated and any recent photos, if available.
I'll tell him, he found this car in a garage and had been sitting a long time, and was interested to see if it was a real car or some made-up clone, I told him to try and find the '67 Registry. It looks like the real deal, but you know how good the fake tag makers can be.
The tag appears real even with the small photo. That's not saying the rest of the car is or is not.
It was originally a Lime Gold / black interior car with an automatic and emissions.
Any more photo you can share?

doesn't sound as though you/he have contacted Dave M the SAAC '67 Registrar: dmathews "at"prodigy"dot" net
he can provide what is in the registry and any new, or relevant, info that is not.

if you/he are willing to post more images you know you'll get plenty of comments
Thanks, I had no idea how to contact him, but now I will. Here is the only other picture I have......
Mike, sorry I thought with you being on the forum for a number of years you knew that, wrong for me to assume.
He is on the forum too, you can PM him - his Forum handle is "GT350DAVE"
Thanks, yes I have been a forum member for many years, but since I was always involved with '68s (with Mongo) and Cobras, I was not familiar with the '67s and their gurus. I am waiting to hear back from my friend, I have encouraged him to contact Dave, so I can get out of the middle.......cheers!
Besides the repaint in Red from the factory Lime Gold, the outboard grille lights and the all fiberglass hood would be appropriate for a later Shelby VIN.
Dave should be contacted, from the few photos you can show us, it appears to be worth the effort to confirm the car is legit.
Thanks! I hope it is real, my friend has been looking for one for a while, and this one looks pretty nice he says.
Another detail with hood is incorrect clocking of hood pin plates as recently discussed. Just saying. Still could be real and hopefully so.

Same hard to find intake emissions only oil filler tube. ;) More points suggesting a genuine car especially since the vin indicated a emissions car.
