Title: Crank Pulley
Post by: S7MS427 on June 28, 2020, 01:49:33 PM
Is there anything special about the '66 crank pulley or is it the standard 289 pulley that's installed on the Hi-Po?  Trying to collect whatever parts I still need for 6S817's engine build.  I ask because of the difference in balancer thicknesses.  Thanks in advance.

The thickness of the balancer is irreverent because the thickness is distributed to the backside. FYI HiPo balancers were advertised and sold as replacement to stock balancers to eliminate possible high rpm vibration back in the 60's . They used the same pulleys as non hipo for a given application. The exception is for A/C.

Thanks, Bob.  That's kind of what I thought.
