Title: Hood Painting Question
Post by: greekz on June 05, 2020, 11:00:49 PM
When the painter is ready to put color on the hood, I am fairly sure there should be a faint dusting of color on the underside.  What I am not sure of if they masked off the scoop inlet, or was there color over spray there as well.

Thanks,

Greek

Based on the factory pictures there appears to be no masking of the bottom or anything during the painting of the hood. Paint laid as it flowed as the painted made sure the top and edges were well covered. OF course it will take effort to reproduce the factory look with today's paints and spray guns.

Preparation and application of strips is another subject :)

Thanks Jeff for the clarification.  No stripes being applied this time.
