Title: More interesting parts
Post by: Greg on April 17, 2020, 08:04:03 PM
I figured I would post some things I found from the original engine.

The coil when cleaned has its original stamp.

Opened up 3939S fuel cannister to find an original element I believe.  Cannister is scratched up but I can't expect better from a 55 YO part.

The HiPO motor mounts look great when cleaned.

I doubt that can is original to the car. If it is it is in absolutely fantastic shape for one exposed to the elements for 50+ years . Regardless no need to replace it.

The appearance of the hipo motor mounts are fine for a unrestored ,survivor or nice driver car and they should work perfectly fine. They have too many age cracks if you are using them on a restored car that is going to be shown IMO with my judges cap on however. It depends on your expectations.

Original coil from a 65 should have an oval FoMoCo logo in the stamp, not Autolite. What's the code?

Thanks, The car is a survivor, original paint etc... so I figured it would be better to use them as is.
