Here is a photo of the first time I got to show 2148, the former John Barnes GT350, at Silver Springs, FL on a cold, nasty Saturday in January. For those of you who read the tale of getting the car back to Florida (I'll try and recreate that story soon), my buddy Rex and my son went with me to this show. After rolling it out of the trailer we all hopped in to drive into the park. The FIRST thing my buddy Rex did after plopping down in the passenger seat was to "help" me by steadying my Yeti coffee cup which was sitting on the console. But all he managed to do was knock it over. >:( At least he had some napkins on him to clean it up!

My Shelby at the Dover AFB Wings-N-Wheels car show. #2034. This was a Canadean car its whole life until I bought it a few years ago. It was sold out of Fogg Motors in Vancouver BC and remained there until 2015.
One of three 500 convertibles delivered to Alberta. Original drive train, interior, roof. All its documentation, right back to the salesman's business card.

Trying to post pictures again. Let's see if this one works without the entire East Coast loosing electrical power? Dam Russians!
This pic is from 1971. American 200s wheels. Gold paint in the front nose. Mach 1 mirrors. "I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now?" ;)
-01107, a NY, NY, ex-Hertz car.
I ran into William Daniels, you will remember him as the voice of "Kit" on "Knight Rider", showing it about 1981 in Katona, NY, at the annual "Light House Car Show".
He was with his 5 or 6 year old son and TRYING to explain what a Shelby was, that he and Garner used to rent them all the time, and that he rented one just like it when he would come to NY on business when he could.
Now he has a very distinctive voice and frankly his face is very recognizable. I try to be sensitive to their plight and not acknowledge that I know who they are. He wasn't buying that from me that day?
Maybe because I wanted to know why they spilled Coke all over the carpets and put cigarette burns in it too.
"Kowalski" (Barry Newman, from "Vanishing Point") was playing cute too, but he was more interested on why my license plate was XXX-869. He kept looking at my face and didn't recognize it.
He ran away from me too. I wonder why? My wife used to drive the car and when asked about the plate number would say, "my dog used to be a porno star".
Leno's ok with Kopec. Figure that one out?
Maybe it is best to get as far away from me as possible? Who am I to argue with that? 8)
Hum? Worked. What do you know...wait...did you just hear a loud boom or was that just me? ???

As my ol' pal Kiwi would say "There aren't enough Es in Sweet for that!"
(And yes, I know that you and he were good friends, and you have Kiwi pix of your cars.)
Any idea what the original selling dealer(s) for your cars was? My KR came out of Chet Monez Ford in Fairfield, CA.

Thanks,
As you well know, Kiwi was with out a doubt "the best". I learned so much from him in the short amount of time we were friends. He is sorely missed.
The white top KR was sold to Minar Ford in Minneapolis and currently lives in the city of its birth.
The black top Kr was sold to Tasca Ford in Rhode Island and remains in my garage.

Those rims look sharp on your car.
Thanks. My car has quite a few performance mods, but is mostly cosmetically correct/original. Especially the interior. (Not underhood.)
But I don't ever show the car for any sort of judging, so I just made it the way I like it. Fun driver. Tracks at Willow Springs occasionally.
Thanks to Coralsnake for his excellent wiring harnesses, and TLea for his specially-made side stripes.

I took my original hub caps off and originally put 200s wheels on. I was concerned that as the hubcaps came flying off, some innocent bystander was going to get maimed or killed. I envisioned them like Odd Jobs hat decapitating bystanders.

12 year restoration completed in 2017
Thanx to the fine work of SAAC registrars, I was able to connect with the original owner of our 68KR.
I have been chatting with him on and off for the past few years, and sharing with him many photos from our past 28 years of stewardship.
The gentleman bought the car new and had it for two years at which time he traded it in on a 1970 Boss 302 (He traded a 66 K-code coupe to get the KR).
Sadly, Mike (the original owner had no photos or paperwork to share, just his memory.
Until a couple of days ago, when I opened my inbox and found this email from him.
The photo is from the winter of 1968 in Spokane, which was the worst winter in 50 years, with so much snow, that drivers would put red flags on their antennas so other drivers could see them coming from the other side of the snow banks.
I was thrilled to get this picture from him, and hopefully, he finds some others that have been hidden away...

According to Marti, it was shipped new there to Northwestern. If I understand correctly, it was sold new at Jack Loftus Ford on 4-28-1969. I bought it in '72 in Alabama at a used car dealership.
Very nice, its possible Northwestern sold it to Loftus or traded it.
I have stories on both dealerships on my website.
