Concours Talk / Re: dark charcoal metallic paint
May 16, 2020, 08:01:21 PM
Here is what some have used in the past, have to add flattener to get the correct sheen and also as stated it doesn't cover so a base of flat black or hot rod gray (dark gray) but not so much as to fill the stamped texture in the metal ot plastic molded parts.

He's not doing them anymore. Does anybody have contact info for Jeff?

Last I had was this...  at times he would take a bit to get back to me.  did a great job on the wheel I had him do.

Seriously, nice job and thanks for promoting SAAC.

Thanks for posting the additional images, especially the tail panel, now the end "wing/returns" and the top lip with holes for rivets are visible which makes it easier to confirm that as (one of the variations of) an original.

See link (although this is regarding GT500 the tube you're asking about looks very similar), see reply #8, the first image the part shown in the lower half.

Yes there is a metal tube with a fitting similar to the one you linked for NPD, I think the correct is available from Deadnutson (?), (there is another thread on this topic that discusses it, may be able to alter the one you reference).

There is a brass fitting that screws into the second vacuum port on the back of the aluminum COBRA intake that the metal tube screws onto.  These are available too, NPD and others, the originals have a W stamped on them.

Will look for links and images, these are 4-speed examples.  (not an expert - just trying to help)

There were not very many in the gray were there?

So, is it all you hoped - is the sound addictive?

Looks great!

Marcus did a summary on Ford Tie-down brackets, one of many he's done on Ford part variations all very informative, here is a portion of it related to the one being discussed here...

OK, I was just totaling those and came to that conclusion - Thanks, I'll adjust above.

(I should have done that before posting)

Dennis, was posting what I was sent a few years ago, would like to adjust to be more accurate.

Can you provide a "correction" for April?

Thanks,
