1965 GT350/R-Model / Spark plugs for 289
November 14, 2022, 01:42:42 PM
Going from memory, autolite BF32 is what is used in a hipo 289. Two questions:

1) is Motorcraft BF32 the same as what was the Autolite BF32?
2) is there a better(performance not originality) spark plug sold today?
Thank you, Paul.

CSX 2000 Series / Steering wheel center emblem

On an original center emblem, does the "AC" in the center of the steering wheel emblem have one or two chrome rings around it? On an original 1965 GT 350 center emblem, the "COBRA" and snake head have two rings. Pictures below:

CSX 2000 Series / Weber identification
August 26, 2022, 03:59:50 PM
Two different setups:
A) parallel carb arrangement with the following stampings on carbs. All are stamped "48IDA 4" but three are followed by "OM" and the fourth by "1D".
B) opposing carb arrangement with the following stampings on carbs "48IDA 4" followed by "1392", "1118", "1915", and "1995".
Are these date codes or other identifying codes? Thank you.

CSX 2000 Series / Weber mechanic in DFW area of Texas
August 26, 2022, 03:51:19 PM
Friend has a car with Webers but it is running very rich. Car starts, idles good(stinks of unburnt fuel and smokes) but when accelerating stumbles, doesn't make real power, and never accelerates(builds RPM) quickly!
1) any recommendations of Weber mechanic in DFW?
2) any recommendations of easy fix?
Thank you, Paul

Asking for a friend, it looks pretty obvious to me that to remove a motor from a 2000 series CSX cobra, it would just come straight up out of the car thru the hood opening. However, my question is if you were only wanting  to remove the transmission, would it have to come out with the motor or could you remove and replace the transmission without removing the motor from the car(ie. through the transmission tunnel from under the car or gain access to it from the passenger compartment of the car?
