Can anyone help with a color/paint code for the steel wheel rims?  Thanks

That is how I found mine some 45+ yrs ago (I'm second owner).
This really highlights the problem of: 'words once written take on a life of their own' which has been so problematic for the accurate restoration of these first year cars.
If only we had something like the NCRS.

Now if only the myth of the 15" x  5 1/2" wheels could finally be dispelled....

For what it's worth, this is what I used to paint my wheels. It was color matched from an original wheel. Paul.

Looks like someone went to English Paints!!!

15" x 6.00"

C5ZX-1007A

15x5.5 at beginning of 65 GT350 production and then 15x6 later.  Registry may have an approximate transition period.

Interesting, as the 2012 book, "The Definitive Shelby Mustang Guide 1965 - 1970 clearly states on Page 48, " All 1965 - or rather, all Mustangs that were destined to become GT-350s-rolled out of San Jose on Argent-painted wheels

Given this information, could the wheels used for color match experienced a color change due to environment, i.e. exhaust fumes, battery fumes, etc.?

Ford was heavy into Argent for many parts, it does not make sense to change colors.  Much confusion given we have a Definitive Guide.

Just thinking out loud and a little confused.

I probably should keep out of this. I'm sure this has been discussed many, many times before, but...
Here's a few vintage color photos.
What color(s) do you see? (Yes, I know monitors and film development can vary in shades of colors, but these all look the same)

The definitive guide apparently has mistakes. ;) As special Ed is so fond of saying "that's just the way it is"
