1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: Tach not working

I'm mystifed over the "three wire tach".  What?  Just two wires on the factory ones I have, plus a snap in light.

Used to be about $500 per wheel.  And then you'd get a newly chromed wheel with a safety lip you can see from the outside. (looks a little different).
If a ever try it again, I'd try to knock the rim off of the center and have the original rim rechromed, then put them back together with some original looking rivets, and go from there.

Notice too that the "cups" the front turn signals sit in are chromed too.

The nose chrome is from a photo taken in August of 1967 when Lil'Red was at Ford's engineering/styling area.  They might have prototyped it or just used some show-car only stuff.

I don't recall any memo about black balling ANYONE who doesn't own a real Cobra, Shelby, Series one, Chrysler based Shelby at all.
So where is this comming from?  Love them all.  I have owned a real 67 GT 350 for more than 49 years, and, I do recall, years back , shunning the clones.  There was a while where if you even replaced a floor section, that car too was shunned. Now I'm well along the way to building a tribute.  I think we're past that stage.
I have no idea what you have asked and didn't get an answer to, but, with perseverance, you find what you are looking for.  Right here on the SAAC forum.

Last Friday at about noon I saw this ad and picked up the phone to buy a pair.  Very surprized to have the UPS delivery van drop them off Saturday, mid-day.  Greenbay WI to the south Chicago suburbs in about 24 hours.
And of course, I had to open the box up for a looky-loo.  Wow, are they fantastic!  What a fabulous detailing was done.
   Thanks Jim!

Seems to me one of the most enjoyable times of ownership is the re-assembly time.

I have found that retorquing aluminum intakes the next day gets a little extra movement to the bolts.

  A comment:
"you have to really tighten the valve cover in order not to have the rubber VC gasket not leak".
Then beware, you might have slightly stressed the aluminum cover, to the point of creating a crack.  I have seen that happen.  (not on my car though)

And: use Chapstick on the unglued side of a cork gasket to keep it from sticking.  Works on carb gaskets too.

Depends if its Concours Driven vs. Concours Trailered, there is a difference.
Not at an MCA National with a Shelby.  Too often it's the same judging crew.
