beautiful auto !
So much for the BJ hype - There is something special about any Ford Mustang that Carroll Shelby and his crew spent time wrenching on.
a one-off Shelby Mustang that was built for and owned by Carroll Shelby. In the early 2000s, Shelby commissioned Legendary G.T. Continuation Cars, the authorized builder of recreation classic Shelby Mustangs, to recreate the 1968 "Green Hornet"
Knowing Carroll they paid to build the car then auctioned it off: The Shelby Black Hornet was built to raise money for the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation and was a tie-up with Restoration Hardware. Black Hornet was displayed at the 2008 SEMA Show and then donated to home furnishing retailer Restoration Hardware for an eBay charity auction that benefited the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation.

I do not believe that Carroll ever wore Stenson black hat, as mentioned. Stetson most likely. Now about that caution fan sticker... beautiful car, though. 8)
Embarrassing.....for everyone especially Lucas Bell, the writer.
Not a period Shelby.
Not a Shelby, period.
40 years of ownership ? Best Whopper in the article.
😂
I know several Years ago a guy built a Tribute/Recreation Black Hornet that Carroll was helping to Hype before it was auctioned off, is this that same Car? They are using the same Photo that was taken with THAT Car.
Carroll Shelby never built such a car, so I suspect it is the same car you saw.
I dont fault Shelby for hyping it, thats what he did. This car was never even a dream until decades after production ended.
If this car was a "real" prototype, built in period (as the junk article falsely implies), then it would already be sitting in Craig Jackson's collection next to Little Red and the Green Hornet.
Has been around the auction block a few previous times from what I recall.
Same conversation when it was at auction in 2020 - - https://www.saacforum.com/index.php?topic=8809.msg73314#msg73314 (https://www.saacforum.com/index.php?topic=8809.msg73314#msg73314)
all comes down to due diligence, buyer beware

Cool modified 68 mustang.A Shelby?Not so much.... ;)
There's a Green one too, built about the same time period by the same folks.
