Great job Pete. Interesting that Kevin Marti was there when it was discovered. That's like getting an 'instant Marti Report'. That could be a new service provided by him. Of course, you have to be a multi millionaire to afford it.
We always enjoy reading your updates. Thanks for the all the work you do!
Thanks, Pete! Very informative writeup & pics. October can't come soon enough for your next contribution!

Thank you for another great post!
I had no idea that the "vinyl top" was a sprayed on simulation!
Very exciting stuff!

Very Nice job on the article Pete, was nice seeing u there.

Great work Pete! I too am happy to have helped a small amount on the Green Hornet and hope to do the same on Little Red. The extra effort to "do it right" is paramount. Just "getting it close because no one will know" has already proven to be the wrong direction.

Super write up Pete! So cool you are involved in this incredible find and restoration. Anxiously waiting to see the progress of these rebuilds as they happen.

Pete, is the molding for the fake top original Ford or aftermarket?
Hard to tell fm pics.
Thanks,
Max
Great read, much appreciated!
Max,
I havent looked at the originals before, but I think it os a Ford part. Let me see if I have a picture.
Same as these

Don't know if the Mustangs had this option - but you could order the Cougar in a "two tone" paint job where the top and body were different colors separated by vinyl top-like molding.
- Phillip
Yes, that's correct and it's surprising they used those parts versus what we called "c"
molding used in the aftermarket vinyl roof installs.
Max
I dont think you could get a "two tone" Mustang in 1967
Allow me to clarify; I was not responding to Phillip's post. He snuck in between Pete and me.
😊
